Fall Folkstyle

Spring: Freestyle & Greco

International Styles of Wrestling

Explore the world's Oldest & Greatest sport and the art of the two international wrestling styles of Freestyle and Greco-Roman.
Master tilts, turns, throws, and pins to dominate the mat in these fast-action styles! 

 

Season Duration & Practice Days

  • Season Duration: March 3 to May 3

  • Practices: 3x a week: Mon-Wed-Thur 

  • Times: 6 - 8 pm

  • Location: Everett High School

  • Saturday Tournaments as part of the Washington State Wrestling Association (WSWA) calendar LINK

Practices encompass technique, drilling, and live wrestling. Periodic "mixers" with other local clubs for competition & camaraderie.

USA WRESTLING CHARTERED CLUB

The Ravens Wrestling Club is a nationally chartered Club of USA Wrestling, the governing body for all amateur wrestling in the United States, including the Olympics.
All wrestlers MUST have a USA Membership before they can participate.

Cost, Coaches & Location

COST: The entire Spring Session is one-time cost of  $350 and includes:
Practices (facilities), tournament coaching, a custom competition singlet, and a Ravens Club T-Shirt. Other costs not covered by the Club Spring Session fee include: tournament entry fees, lodging/meals/travel for away tournaments & supplemental gear purchased from our team store.

All COACHES have passed a recent background check, are USA Certified Leaders, and are Safe Sport Certified coaches. Almost all of our coaches are former prep champions, accomplished competitors, and college wrestlers. They include: Kevin Corbett, Eric Malsberry, & Matt McClinchy.

Ravens Wrestling Club Guest Coaches have included Olympic Gold Medalists, World Champions, College All-Americans, National Team Coaches, Athletes, and others!

Join us today and take your skills to the next level!

The 2025 Fall Folkstyle Wrestling season is a short, 5-week session for middle school & high school students getting ready for their school seasons.
Optionally, some Individuals use the uptempo training as preparation to travel & compete in large national tournaments (TBA) in October & November. 

 

  • WHO:  Middle School & High School Wrestlers

  • DATES: October 6 to November 12  (6 weeks) 

  • PRACTICE DAYS/TIME: Mondays 7:30-9 pm ( NEW CHANGE) & Wednesdays, 6 - 7:30 pm

  • COST:  $75 per family - session fee.  ($120 if outside of the LWSD)

  • LOCATION: Juanita High School [video]

  • USA WRESTLING MEMBERSHIP CARD REQUIRED PRIOR TO PRACTICE

    There are 4 types of memberships. Most wrestlers will only need "Limited Folkstyle"

    • Fall Folkstyle Club Session requires (minimum)  Limited Folkstyle membership ($20)

    • Can be easily converted to a Full Athlete membership for Spring Freestyle/Greco-Roman, at a later date.

    • For State Championship & Nat'l Tournament participation, wrestlers are REQUIRED to have a Full Athlete membership 
       

  • NOTE: For athletes 18 years of age OR turning 18 prior to August 31st of 2026, will need to complete a Safe Sports Certification course to be eligible to purchase a USA Wrestling Card. The online course takes approximately 2 hours. 
    Safe Sport training, developed by the U.S. Center for SafeSport, is an educational program designed to prevent and respond to misconduct and abuse in sports by teaching participants to recognize, prevent, and report sexual, emotional, and physical abuse. The program, which is required for many members of national governing bodies and sports organizations, includes core and refresher courses for adults and free resources for parents and youth athletes to promote a safe and positive sports environment. The online Safe Sports course is available inside the USA Wrestling Membership area.

Fall Folkstyle

The Ravens Wrestling Club is excited to offer two separate groups for youth in the 2025-2026 Winter Kids Wrestling season.

  • BEGINNER & NOVICE
    A 4-month wrestling season, for beginner Boys & Girls ages 5 to 14, who have less than 2 years of experience & want to compete individually and as a member of a team!
    + SEASON: November 19 to February 2nd
    + PRACTICE DAYS/TIME: Monday & Wednesday, 6:15 -7:30 pm
    + COMPETITIONS: The Ravens Beginner/Novice group will compete as a Team in five tournaments (on Sundays), as part of the
    Western Washington Kids Wrestling League. (schedule to be handed out the first week).
    +COST: $250, which includes membership in USA Wrestling--the national governing body for amateur wrestling in the United States, including the Olympics!
    + LOCATION: Juanita High School Mat Room in the upper field house
    + Parent involvement required.

    Ravens Wrestling Club Novices belong to the Western Washington Youth Wrestling League (WWKWL) -- a group of 12 Northwest-area Youth Wrestling Clubs that host competitions specifically for beginning wrestlers, providing fair & balanced competition for those new to, & learning, the world's oldest and greatest sport.
    STARTS NOVEMBER 19.

  • VETERAN YOUTH
    Ravens Wrestling Club is excited to add an additional session for advanced youth, ages 5 to 14 years old, who have graduated from the WWKWL, have 2 or more years of experience, and/or are middle school wrestlers.
    + SEASON: November 11th to February 22nd 
    + PRACTICE DAYS/TIMES: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6:15 - 7:45 pm
    + COST: $325, which includes membership in USA Wrestling--the national governing body for amateur wrestling in the United States, including the Olympics!
    + COMPETITIONS: One Tournament per month, culminating with the State Tournament in the Tacoma Dome. The tournament schedule will be handed out in the first week of practice.

    + NOTE: Wrestlers must attend practices regularly, focus on coaching instruction, and work well with teammates during 90-minute sessions to improve their skills. Fun is encouraged, but wrestlers who are unable to focus will be removed.
    + Participation in the Advanced group is at the discretion of the coaches and the wrestler's experience.
    + Registration for the Veteran session closes December 4th.

    + Parent involvement required.
    STARTS NOVEMBER 11.
